This comforting Bengali medley combines fresh pumpkin greens and mixed vegetables with spiced yellow split peas.

Prepare a paste of cumin, coriander, red chili, and turmeric powders with a little water. Add this spice paste to the pan, rinse the bowl with a little water, and pour it in. Mix well to coat the vegetables. ▶ 5:10 medium

💡 More tips

  • The yellow split peas (motor dal) should be soaked for 2 hours and boiled until half-cooked (50%) beforehand, ensuring the water is completely absorbed and not watery.
